CHEERSPORT National Championship

CHEERSPORT Nationals is one of the largest and most popular all-star cheerleading competitions in the United States. Now a Varsity All Star brand, the event is held each winter at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and is known for an athlete-centered format that emphasizes a positive competition experience for teams and families.

The championship hosts well over 20,000 athletes each season across a broad range of levels and age divisions, from developing prep teams up to elite Level 6 and Level 7 squads. Its scale, production quality, and spacious downtown-Atlanta venue have made it a staple of the competitive season.

CHEERSPORT carries significant stakes: it is a Worlds Bid event that awards paid and at-large bids to The Cheerleading Worlds, and it is part of the Triple Crown qualifier system. It also awards bids to other end-of-season championships such as The Summit, giving elite programs a major opportunity to secure their postseason path.

CHEERSPORT was founded in 1993 by a group of all-star coaches who loved competitive cheerleading and wanted to build a competition model centered on improving the experience for everyone involved. That coach-driven, athlete-first philosophy became the brand's signature.

Its flagship event, CHEERSPORT Nationals, grew into one of the country's largest and most prestigious all-star competitions and settled into an annual February date at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The brand was later brought under the Varsity All Star umbrella, and the event has continued to expand in team count and international participation.

CHEERSPORT Nationals is a multi-day event, typically running across a weekend in February, with teams competing on multiple floors inside the Georgia World Congress Center and top teams advancing to finals in many divisions. Because it is a Worlds bid and Triple Crown event, spectators often see high-level Level 6 and Level 7 routines alongside younger and developing teams.

Families can expect a large, high-energy environment: full-day performance schedules, warm-up areas, vendor and merchandise booths, participant gifts, team awards, and division awards ceremonies. The event is known for its production values and for a spectator-friendly, spacious venue in downtown Atlanta.

The championship is held at the Georgia World Congress Center (285 Andrew Young International Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30313) in the heart of downtown Atlanta, adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park and numerous hotels. The venue is served by Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), one of the busiest airports in the world, roughly 10-15 minutes away, and is accessible via Atlanta's MARTA transit system. Downtown host hotels and travel packages are typically arranged through the event's housing partners.
